Hi fellow siblings,
I wanted to let you know about this event coming up soon, which is run by the charity Sibs (the UK charity for brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults).
ADULT SIBLING DAY
Saturday 3rd November, 10am – 5pm, London
This event is for any adult sibling in the UK who has grown up with a disabled brother or sister. You will have the opportunity to meet other adult siblings, get practical advice and essential information on sibling issues.
Come and join us for:
Panel of adult siblings sharing their experiences on being siblings of people with a learning disability/autism
Presentation/Q&A with solicitor on key mental capacity, legal and financial issues that siblings need to understand
Top tips from Sibs staff on talking to your parents and on managing your brother or sister’s care
Award winning drama performance by adult sibling on experience of growing up with sister with challenging behaviour
Cost £25. Only 40 places available (now 14 remaining) - booking essential at www.sibs.org.uk/support-for-adult-siblings/adult-sibling-day/
I’m going to tag a few adult siblings I’ve chatted to on other threads just to highlight it ( @Bron-R @chissylou @Alexg @Liz ) and I hope that any adult siblings reading this can make it too. This forum has a great sibling community and sibling topics and I hope a few people from here get chance to meet face to face at this event.
