i have twins both with learning difficulties both undiagnosed but we have struggling to get help from the school, they have a care plan in place but there teacher keeps saying they are fine in class, one is also showing traits of of autism and ADHD, i have today applied for an EHC Assesment but feel like im going round in circles does anyone have any advice?
Hello, if you are struggling to get your children the support they need in school then you have done the right thing in applying for an assessment for an EHCP. If they get EHCPs then their school will have to provide the support listed in the documents. An EHCP will also open up the possibility of applying for specialist educational provision. If you want your child assessed for ASD or ADHD then it is best to ask your GP for a referral for that assessment. Having a correct diagnosis will help when trying to get the required support for your child. Both of those processes take months or years so I hope you can find the support you need in this group or from others who have been through the same thing. Best wishes…
